 General Code of Ordinances

The ordinances embraced in this and the following chapters shall constitute and be designated the "Code of Ordinances, Township of Algoma, Michigan," and may be so cited.  This code may also be cited as the "Algoma Township Code."

Zoning Code of Ordinances

Establishes zoning districts for the unincorporated portions of the Township of Algoma pursuant to the provisions of Act 184 of the Public Acts of 1943, as amended, to set forth regulations, minimum standards and procedures for the use, size and protection of land and structures within such districts, to establish provisions for the enforcement of this Ordinance and to prescribe penalties for the violation thereof.

Latest Zoning Code amendments were adopted on August 14, 2018 and became effective on September 16, 2018.

Zoning Code of Ordinances

 

In addition to the Zoning Code of Ordinances language certain developments such as Planned Unit Developments (PUD), Open Space Planned Unit Developments (OS-PUD) and Commercial Planned Unit Developments (C-PUD) are adopted by Township Zoning Ordinance by the Township Board.  The approved development PUDs to date are listed below.  Click on the links below to review or print the individual ordinance language to a particular PUD.

River Bend PUD

Russell Ridge OS-PUD - Update:  October 8, 2013 the Twp Board approved an amendment to this ordinance that rezones a portion of the PUD back to the original R-R Rural Residential zoning.  That portion was then also approved as a Site Condominium project. Rezoning of Portion of Russell Ridge PUD to R-R District

Scarlett Glenn OS-PUD - Update:  December 10, 2013 the Twp Board approved an amendment to this ordinance that rezones the entire PUD back to the original R-R Rural Residential zoning.  It was then also approved as a Site Condominium project.
